NAVY

Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, Ingalls Operations, Pascagoula, Miss., is being awarded a $1,369,507,077 modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-00-C-2217) for the detail design and construction of the LHD 8 multi-purpose amphibious assault ship. The contract modification also provides for technical manuals, crew familiarization, coordinated shipboard allowance list material, major shore based spares and related engineering and technical services. Work will be performed in Pascagoula, Miss. (76 percent), and various other subcontractor facilities (24 percent) and is expected to be completed by July 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics Decision Systems, Scottsdale, Ariz., is being awarded a $13,391,530 cost-plus-award-fee contract for the design, development and test of the combat operation center (COC) of the unit operation center. The COCs will be an integrated package of shelter/tentage, power, cabling, local area networks and processing systems. This package will host current Marine Corps mission application software, interface to current Marine Corps communications assets, require vehicles to transport it to the field and present a smaller footprint than current operations centers when fully set up. Work will be performed in Huntsville, Ala. (54 percent); Scottsdale, Ariz. (15 percent); Stafford, Va. (10 percent); Oceanside, Calif. (10 percent); Taunton, Mass. (five percent); Columbia, Md. (two percent); Whippany, N.J. (two percent); and McLeansville, N.C. (two percent), and is expected to be completed by April 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Internet with four offers received. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity (M67854-02-C-2052).

AIR FORCE

Raytheon Aircraft Co., Wichita, Kan., is being awarded a $29,904,000 contract option to increase the quantity of the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System T-6A production aircraft for Pensacola Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Fla., to seven. At this time, the total amount of funds has been obligated. This work will be complete March 2005. The Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-01-C-0022, P00003).

The Boeing Co., Wichita, Kan., is being awarded a $13,998,779 cost-plus-award-fee contract modification to provide for contract change proposal for the C-130 Avionics Modernization Program. This is for a test schedule change and deletion of AN/ALQ-157 jammer system requirement. At this time, $119,688 of the funds has been obligated. The Boeing Co. will perform this effort at its facility in Long Beach, Calif. The Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (33657-01-0047, P0010).
