The Merchants Co.,* Hattiesburg, Miss., is being awarded $12,200,000 firm-fixed price with indefinite-quantity type contract for full line food distribution for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and federal civilian agencies. Work will also be performed in Jackson, Miss. The performance completion date is Dec. 20, 2003. This contract is exercising its first year option. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 30 proposals solicited with five responses. John J. Kirlin Inc., Rockville, Md., is being awarded a delivery order amount of $300,000 as part of a $75,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract for renovation, repair and minor construction for DoD Army medical and support facilities. Work will be performed at various locations within the U.S. and Puerto Rico to be determined with each task order, and is to be completed by Dec. 31, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on Oct. 26, 2001, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Ala., is the contracting activity (DACA01-03-D-0004).
Raytheon Co., El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $16,968,918 cost-plus fixed-fee contract, and TRW Inc., Redondo Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $21,363,732 cost-plus fixed-fee contract to provide research and development for a high-powered solid-state laser of 25 kilowatt class with near diffraction limited and diode pumped. At this time, $2,000,000 of the funds for each has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be completed by December 2004. Solicitation began July 2002 and negotiations were completed November 2002. The Air Force Research Laboratory, is the contracting activity (F29601-03-C-0062, F29601-03-C-0061).
Honeywell Inc., Phoenix is being awarded a $7,570,139 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for gyroscope displacement for the C-12 gyroscope compass system on the C-130 aircraft, 259 each. Total funds have been obligated. This work will be completed by October 2005. Solicitation began in February 2002 and negotiations were completed in November 2002. The Headquarters Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., is the contracting activity (F34601-03-C-0022).
