DEFENSE LOGISITCS AGENCY

Ssangyong (U.S.A.) Inc., Paramus, N.J., was awarded $154,400,193 fixed-price with economic-price adjustment type contract for JP8 fuel for the U.S. Air Force on Dec. 6, 2002. Work will also be performed in Ulsan Metropolitan City, Korea. The performance completion date is Jan. 30, 2004. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 14 proposals solicited with 15 responses. The contracting activity is the Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va. (SP0600-03-R-0466).

Refinery Associates of Texas*, New Braunfels, Texas, was awarded a $10,475,937 fixed price with economic price adjustment type contract for fuel oil for the Defense Energy Support Center on Dec. 6, 2002. Work will also be performed from BP Singapore Pte. Ltd., in Singapore. Performance completion date is to be Dec. 31, 2003. Contract funds will expire during the current fiscal year. There were 14 proposals solicited with 15 responses. The contracting activity is the Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va. (SP0600-02-R-0077).

ARMY

General Electric Co., Lynn, Mass., is being awarded a delivery order amount of $39,187,429 as part of a $531,457,551.58 firm-fixed-price contract for procurement of 59-701C install engines. Work will be performed in Lynn and is to be completed by Aug. 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole-source contract initiated on June 20, 1997. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAJ09-97-D-0196).

Stewart & Stevenson Tactical Vehicle Systems, Sealy, Texas, was awarded a $395,844,118 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for the purchase of 2,880 trucks FMTV on Dec. 6, 2002. Work will be performed in Sealy and is to be completed by Dec. 31, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole-source contract initiated on Jan. 2, 1998. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-98-C-M005).

Gilford Corp., Beltsville, Md., was awarded a delivery order amount of $3,800,000 as part of a $25,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract for design/build of secure telecommunications rooms in Wedges 1-5 and basement of the Pentagon on Dec. 6, 2002. Work will be performed at the Pentagon, Arlington, Va., and is to be completed by Sept. 30, 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were three bids solicited on Aug. 29, 2002, and three bids were received. The Pentagon Renovation Office, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (MDA947-03-D-0002).

General Dynamics Decision Systems, Scottsdale, Ariz., was awarded a delivery order amount of $500,000 as part of a $10,000,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for development, test, and delivery of cryptographic software products for the advanced information systems security machine device and associated peripheral processors to support future cluster joint tactical radio set acquisitions of the Joint Tactical Radio System on Dec. 5, 2002. Work will be performed in Scottsdale and is to be completed by Dec. 4, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole-source contract initiated on August 9, 2002. The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, Alexandria, Va., is the contracting activity (DABL01-03-D-1001).

L-3 Communications Systems, Salt Lake City is being awarded a delivery order amount of $7,440,513 as part of a $7,440,513 firm-fixed-price contract for AS-3036 antenna upgrade kits. Work will be performed in Salt Lake City and is to be completed by Dec. 16, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole-source contract initiated on Oct. 11, 2002. The U.S. Army Communication-Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAB07-03-D-G401).

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded a delivery order amount of $6,810,150 as part of a $6,810,150 firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance and overhaul of 150 Cat III - main rotor blades in support of the UH-60 Black Hawk. Work will be performed in Shelton, Conn., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole-source contract initiated on April 5, 2002. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (N00383-99-D-016N).

Coley Pharmaceuticals Inc., Wellesley, Mass., was awarded a $6,000,001 cost reimbursement contract for development of CpG oligonuceleotides as a vaccine adjuvant to enhance the safety and efficacy of a vaccine against anthrax toxin proteins was awarded on Dec. 6, 2002. Work will be performed in Wellesley and is to be completed by April 5, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via Broad Agency Announcement on Sept. 4, 2001, and 286 bids were received. The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Research Triangle Park, N.C., is the contracting activity (DAAD19-03-C-0002).

NAVY

Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc., Cambridge, Mass., is being awarded a $10,323,354 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-01-C-5247) for validation of the common guidance capability of its guidance electronics unit with the ATK Ballistic Trajectory Extended Range Guided Munition. Work will be performed in Cambridge (59 percent) and Rocket Center, W.Va. (41 percent), and is to be completed by July 2003. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Rolling Meadows, Ill., is being awarded a $6,369,343 firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for F-15E AN and ALQ-135 Band 1.5 Internal Countermeasures Test Program Set (TPS) Development and Depot Repair Support CCP 008. $6,165,698 of the funds has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be completed by June 2005. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, is the contracting activity (F33657-98-C-0037, P00043).

TRICARE MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY

International SOS Assistance, Inc. of Trevose, Pa., was awarded a contract to provide a health care benefit to active duty service members and their families living overseas in remote locations on Dec. 6, 2002. The Tricare global remote overseas health care contract replaces the remote overseas health care contracts in the Tricare Pacific and Tricare Latin America and Canada Regions. The consolidation standardizes the health care benefit across overseas regions to include all of Tricare Europe and reduces administrative costs for the government. The contract is valued at approximately $2 million to $5.8 million per year, for one base-year, plus four option years.
