NAVY

Norfolk Shipbuilding & Drydock Corp., Norfolk, Va., is being awarded a $17,926,675 firm-fixed-price contract for a docking phased-maintenance availability of the USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20). Work includes miscellaneous structural, electrical and mechanical repairs, including shipalts, alterations equivalent to repairs and drydocking. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by January 2004. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Internet, with three proposals solicited and two offers received. The Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, U.S. Navy, Portsmouth, Va., is the contracting activity (N62678-03-C-3056).

BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Inc., Communication, Navigation, Identification and Reconnaissance Division, Greenlawn, N.Y., is being awarded an $11,008,224 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-priced contract (N00019-00-C-0298) to exercise an option for 420 common digital identification friend or foe transponders and 324 CXP remote control units for the U.S. Army. Work will be performed in Greenlawn, N.Y., and is expected to be completed in October 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

ARMY

W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Co., Philadelphia, Miss., is being awarded a $9,249,000 firm-fixed-price contract for additions and remodeling at the Darnall Community Hospital. Work will be performed in Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. There were 350 bids solicited on April 22, 2003, and nine bids were received. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Fort Worth, Texas, is the contracting activity, (DACA63-03-C-0007).

Raytheon Co., Electronic System, Bedford, Mass., is being awarded a $6,616,527 modification to a cost-plus-award-fee contract (DAAH01-99-C-0028) for engineering services. Work will be performed in Burlington, Mass. (12%); Huntsville, Ala. (1%); Andover, Mass. (2%); Tewksbury, Mass (71%); El Paso, Texas (1%); Bedford, Mass. (12%); and Orlando, Fla. (1%), and is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2004. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one bid solicited on Sept. 21, 1998, and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.

Dimensions International Inc., Alexandria, Va., is being awarded a $6,551,537 modification for a time and material contract (DAAE07-98-D-T061) for total package fielding and net training. Work will be performed in Alexandria, Va., and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2004. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one bid solicited on June 18, 2003, and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command-Warren, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Grand Prairie, Texas, is being awarded a $5,600,000 modification to a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (DAAH01-01-G-0001) for engineering support for software design, implementation and validation testing of segment software upgrades. Work will be performed in Dallas, Texas (75.60%), and Anaheim, Calif. (24.40%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2003. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one bid solicited on March 11, 2003, and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.
