CONTRACTS

 

ARMY

 

            American Truck Company L.L.C., McLean, Va., was awarded on Jan. 5, 2004, a $53,903,331 firm-fixed-price contract for 302 medium tactical trucks with supporting integrated logistics support Items.  Work will be performed at Fort Wayne, Ind. (95%) and McLean, Va. (5%), and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2008.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This was a sole source contract initiated on Nov. 24, 2003.  The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-03-C-S114).

 

            Okland Construction Company Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah, was awarded on Dec. 31, 2003, a $22,566,067 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a squadron operations/aviation maintenance unit hanger.  Work will be performed in Indian Springs, Nev., and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on Oct. 30, 2003, and eight bids were received.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles, Calif., is the contracting activity (W912PL-04-C-0003).

 

            Viecore FSD Inc., Eatontown, N.J., was awarded on Jan. 5, 2004, an $800,000 increment as part of a $6,348,949 GSA federal supply schedule order contract for integration of a formerly stove-piped battle command functions into a single, integrated display for decision-making of an FCS equipped force.  Work will be performed in Eatontown, N.J., and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2006.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on July 1, 2003, and 18 bids were received.  The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (HR0011-04-F-0013).

 

NAVY

 

            Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $25,869,763 firm-fixed-price contract for five Ship Self Defense MK 2 systems (SSDS) with test bed, to support qualification testing.  The five tactical systems will used on the following ships; CVN-74, CV-67, LHD-1, CVN-70 and LPD-22.  The SSDS is designed to provide a rapid-reaction anti-air defense capability against high-speed, low-flying anti-ship missiles now in the inventories of many potentially hostile nations.  The system is intended to integrate and coordinate all existing sensors and weapons aboard a ship.  SSDS makes it possible to automate detect and engage sequence through use of identification and engagement doctrine statements.  Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (55%) and Portsmouth, R. I. (45%), and is expected to be completed by November 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The contract was not competitively procured.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity  (N00024-03-C-5127).

 

            Bell-Boeing Program Office, Patuxent River, Md., is being awarded a $16,600,000 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract (N00019-93-C-0006) to provide additional funds for the MV-22 engineering and manufacturing development program.  Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (50%) and Ridley Park, Pa. (50%), and is expected to be completed in November 2004.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

 

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

 

            Truman Arnold Companies*, Amarillo, Texas, is being awarded $6,443,262 fixed price with economic price adjustment for fuel for the military services.  Performance completion date is expected to be March 31, 2007.  Contract funds will expire this fiscal year.  There was one proposal solicitation and one responded.  The contracting activity is the Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va.  (SP0600-04-D-0094).

 

            Chennault Jet Center, Lake Charles, La., is being awarded $5,256,266 fixed price with economic price adjustment for fuel for the military services.  Performance completion date is expected to be March 31, 2007.  Contract funds will expire this fiscal year.   There was one proposal solicitation and one responded.  The contracting activity is the Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va.  (SP0600-04-D-0103).
