CONTRACTS

ARMY

     Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla., was awarded on Jan. 7, 2004, a $95,556,100 a cost-plus-award-fee contract for the Iraqi Media Network rebuilding of Iraq’s television, radio and newspaper network.  Work will be performed in Iraq and is expected to be completed by January 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on Oct. 10, 2003, and five bids were received.  The Defense Contract Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (W74V8H-04-C-0017).

     O’Gara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring Co., Fairfield, Ohio, was awarded on Jan. 7, 2004, a $23,339,643 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 748 M1114 up-armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles with gun shields and 1,739 Hess armored demountable kits, windscreen without original equipment manufacturer frame kits.  Work will be performed in Fairfield, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This was a sole-source contract initiated on April 10, 2000.  The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-00-C-S019).

     FLIR Systems Inc., Portland, Ore., was awarded on Jan. 8, 2004, a $16,885,286 firm-fixed-price contract for 27 FLIR systems Star SAFIRE III airborne thermal imaging systems and related items and two FLIR Systems Star SAFIRE II Systems.  Work will be performed in Portland, Ore., and is expected to be completed by May 23, 2004.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This was a sole-source contract initiated on Nov. 7, 2003.  The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity (W9113M-04-C-0014).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

     U.S. Foodservice, doing business as Joseph Webb Foods, Vista, Calif., is being awarded a $33,450,000 firm-fixed-price with indefinite-delivery type of contract for prime vendor full line food and beverage support for the for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies.  This contract is exercising its third year option.  Performance completion date is expected to be Jan. 12, 2005.  Contract funds will expire this fiscal year.  There were 96 proposal solicitations, and five responded.  The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0300-04-D-2995).

     Carter Industries Inc.*, Brooklyn, N.Y., is being awarded a $9,291,000 firm-fixed-price contract for combat vehicle crewman coveralls for the Army.  Work will also be performed in Olive Hill, Ky.  Performance completion date is expected to be June 3, 2005.  Contract funds will expire this fiscal year.  There were four proposal solicitations, and four responded.  The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity  (SP0100-04-C-4117).

     DeRossi and Son Co. Inc.*, Vineland, N.J., is being awarded a $7,052,121 firm-fixed-price with indefinite-delivery type of contract for coats for the Army and Navy.  This contract is exercising its fourth year option.  Performance completion date is expected to be Jan. 5, 2005.  Contract funds will expire this fiscal year.  There were 20 proposal solicitations, and six responded.  The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0100-00-D-0314).

NAVY

     McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $13,048,981 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide acquisition logistic support, logistic support analysis, technical manuals and technical support for support equipment, production integration testing, support and flight test instrumentation system equipment and repair for the T-45 training system.  Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (80 percent); Warton, Lancashire, England (13 percent); and Filton, Bristol, England (7 percent), and is expected to be completed in December 2004.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-04-C-0013).

     Erie Forge and Steel Inc., Erie, Pa., is being awarded a $7,852,956 firm-fixed-price contract for the purchase of complete ships set of waterborne propulsion shafting for USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67).  Work will be performed in Erie, Pa., and is expected to be completed by April 2005.  Funding has been provided by the Navy Working Capital Fund.  Funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This announcement does not include a foreign military sale.  This contract was procured on a limited competitive basis.  Two companies were solicited, and two offers were received.  The Naval Inventory Control Point is the contracting activity (N00104-04-C-D002).

AIR FORCE

     Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Rolling Meadows, Ill., is being awarded a $10,719,384 firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for F-15E AN/ALQ-135 Band 1.5 Lot V option exercise.  Total funds have been obligated.  This work will be complete by June 2005.  Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-98-C-0037, P00054).
