CDM Constructors, Inc., Carlsbad, Calif., is being awarded a $40,497,434 combination firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, design-build-operate-maintain contract for water and wastewater systems at Marine Corps Base (MCB), Camp Pendleton. The base contract is for design and construction of a 5 million gallon per day, tertiary sewage and sludge treatment plant. This contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to a not to exceed amount of $257,898,219. Work will be performed in Oceanside, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2006 (September 2014 with options). Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured using a two-phase source selection procurement process with eight firms submitting Phase I proposals. Work will be performed in Oceanside, Calif., and is expected to be completed by August 2005. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured with 120 proposals solicited, 16 offers received and award made on Jan. 29, 2001. The basic total contract amount is not to exceed $150,000,000 (base period and four option years). The multiple contractors (six in number) may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the existing contract. Three offers were received for this task order.
