CONTRACTS
ARMY
 
            Caddell Construction Company Inc., Montgomery, Ala., was awarded on June 16, 2006, a $28,231,000 increment as part of a $56,462,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a barracks complex.  Work will be performed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2008.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were 265 bids solicited on Dec. 22, 2005, and three bids were received.  The Army Engineer District, Savannah, Ga., is the contracting activity (W912HN-06-C-0037).
 
            L-3 Communications Titan Corp. Melbourne, Fla., was awarded on June 16, 2006, a $7,364,332 modification to a cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract for the conversion of the M56 Smoke Generating System (SGS) to M56A1 SGS.  Work will be performed in Melbourne, Fla., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2008.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This was a sole source contract initiated on April 29, 2006.  The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., is the contracting activity (DAAD13-00-C-0052).
 
            Armor Holdings, Fairfield, Ohio, was awarded on June 15, 2006, a $5,644,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the Battery Powered Motorized Traversing Units.  Work will be performed in Rock Island, Ill. (51 percent), Watervliet, N.Y. (48 percent), and Chambersburg, Pa. (1 percent), and is expected to be completed by June 7, 2007.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This was a sole source contract initiated on June 5, 2006.  The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (W52H09-06-C-5015).
 
NAVY
 
            NAVCOM Defense Electronics, Inc., El Monte, Calif., is being awarded an $11,447,069 firm-fixed-price contract for URN-25 tactical air navigation systems and on-board and shore-based spares.  The system includes transponder, control indicator, antenna group and on-board and shore-based spares.  Four systems will be procured in the base award.  Work will be performed in El Monte, Calif., and is expected to be completed by March 2008.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract supports the Government of Spain under the Foreign Military Sales program.  The contract was not competitively procured.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-06-C-4004).
