G4S Parsons Pacific, L.L.C., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., is being awarded a $55,446,631 fixed-price award-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for base operations support services at the Navy Support Facility, Diego Garcia. The work to be performed provides for general management and administration services; command and staff (information technology services, information technology support and management, telephone services, telecommunication services, antenna maintenance); public safety (fire protection and emergency services); air operations (ground electronics, airfield facilities, and passenger terminal and cargo handling); port operations; supply; morale, welfare and recreation support; galley; bachelor quarters; facilities support; utilities (electrical, compressed gases, wastewater, steam, hot water and demineralized water, and potable water); base support vehicles and equipment; and environmental to provide integrated base operating services in support of its mission in the British Indian Ocean Territory. The maximum dollar value, including the base period and four option years, is $282,181,556 ($194,423,424 fixed-price award-fee, and $87,758,132 estimated indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity). Work will be performed in Diego Garcia, and is expected to be completed by August 2017. Contract funds in the amount of $19,689,852 are obligated on this award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year and $18,343,769 is subject to the availability of funds for the next fiscal year. T.B. Penick & Sons, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded $15,221,250 for firm-fixed-price task order 0004 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N62473-09-D-1651) for the design and construction of a multiuse operational fitness area at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms. The work to be performed provides for the construction of a fitness trail, outdoor recreation center, recreational ground and administrative facility. This consists of the construction of a fitness track with work-out stations, an outdoor pavilion and an administrative facility consisting of administrative, storage, and restroom areas. The task order also contains one planned modification, which, if exercised, would increase cumulative task order value to $15,270,000. Work will be performed in Twentynine Palms, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2014. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. SCD Information Technology, L.L.C.*, Columbia, Md., was awarded, Aug. 8, an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity firm-fixed-price contract for on-site preventative, predictive, and remedial hardware maintenance and internal hardware operating system’s software, engineering changes, and other related hardware maintenance services. The specification covers hardware internal operating system software and software technical support when they are offered as an integral and essential part of providing hardware maintenance. The minimum guaranteed face value for this contract is $100,000 dollars, funded by fiscal 2012 funds using Defense Working Capital Funds funds. The total contract ceiling is $40,000,000. The period of performance is from Oct. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2013 for the base period, with four, one-year options that, if exercised, shall end on Sept. 30, 2017. Performance will be at the Defense Information Systems Agency Computing Services Directorate processing centers, or its successor, as well as satellite installations/information processing centers, at various locations. The original solicitation was issued as a competitive 8(a) set-aside action and two proposals were received. DEFENSE ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY
Boston Dynamics, Inc., Waltham, Mass., is being awarded a $10,882,438 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The contractor will develop and build a set of identical humanoid robot systems for use by performers in both phases of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Robotics Challenge Program. This effort will develop robotic platforms consisting of two legs, a torso, on board computing, two arms with hands, and a sensor head. The robots to be delivered to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will be distributed to the top software development teams based on the results of the Virtual Disaster Challenge of the Robotics Challenge program. The contractor will also provide in-the-field support and as-required maintenance to the delivered systems. Work will be performed in Waltham, Mass. Work is expected to be completed by Aug. 9, 2014.
