NAVY
Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corporation, Norfolk, Virginia, is being
awarded a $24,216,447 cost-plus-award fee contract for the Phased Maintenance
Program (PMP) for the LSD-41 Class vessels homeported in Norfolk, Virginia,
including USS Gunston Hall (LSD-44), USS Whidbey Island (LSD-41), and USS
Tortuga (LSD-46). Work will be performed in Norfolk, Virginia, and is expected
to be completed by June 1999. Contract funds for the planning portion of this
award will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This award was
competitively procured with five proposals solicited and three offers received.
The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity
(N00024-95-C-8505).
ARMY
Hewett-Kier*, Pompano Beach, Florida, is being awarded a $7,907,872 firm fixed
price construction contract to perform additions/alterations/repairs to four
facilities: a single story 8,350 square foot communications facility (Building
354); a 3-story concrete frame 28,741 square foot visiting officers quarters
(Building 476); a vehicle maintenance complex to include a 6,635 square foot
refueler maintenance facility (Building 307); a vehicle maintenance facility;
and a new 2-bay wash rack building. Work will be performed at Homestead Air
Force Base, Florida, and is expected to be completed by June 1, 1996. Contract
funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 36
bids solicited on February 1, 1995, and 2 bids received. The contracting
activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Alabama
(DACA01-95-C-0088).
CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY
CBPO of North America, Sherman Oaks, California, is being awarded a
$10,400,000 modification to a fixed price contract for the excavation of the
right abutment of Seven Oaks Dam. Work will be performed in San Bernardino**,
California, and is expected to be completed by September 30, 1995. Contract
funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole
source contract initiated on March 15, 1995. The contracting activity is the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles, California (DACW09-94-C-0021).
