DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY
Nacco Material Handling Group Inc., Portland, Oregon, is being awarded an
estimated $32,620,751 firm fixed price requirements contract for forklift
trucks. Five proposals were solicited and five were received. Work will be
performed in Danville, Illinois and Troutdale, Oregon and is expected to be
completed by March 1999. The Defense Supply Center Columbus, Columbus, Ohio is
the contracting activity (SP0-730-96-D-8002).
ARMY
General Electric Company, Aircraft Engine Business Group, Lynn, Massachusetts,
is being awarded a $22,053,726 modification to a firm fixed price contract to
exercise Option FY96, for two 701C spare engines for the country of Greece; 36
701C Black Hawk install engines, and four 701C install engines for the country
of Egypt. Work will be performed in Lynn, Massachusetts, and is expected to be
completed by December 30, 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of
the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on July 8,
1993. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command,
St. Louis, Missouri (DAAJ09-94-C-0044).
Lockheed Martin Defense Systems, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is being awarded a
$5,048,821 modification to a firm fixed price supply contract for 172
remanufactured turret drive systems in support of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
Work will be performed in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and is expected to be
completed by October 30, 1998. Of the total contract funds, $158,075 will
expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract
initiated on September 20, 1995. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army
Armaments, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Illinois
(DAAA09-94-C-0444).
John Crowe & Associates, Incorporated*, Abilene, Texas, is being awarded a
$5,209,435 firm fixed price contract for additions and alterations to two
existing dormitories, buildings 7219 and 7220. The dorms are characterized by
interior hallways and room-bathroom modules. The

additions and alterations will include converting the interior hallways to
room-bathroom modules and adding exterior balconies and roof overhangs. They
will be upgraded to Air Force standards to include all interior finishes, new
doors and windows, mechanical/plumbing/electrical systems, hardscaping and
landscaping. Work will be performed at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, and is
expected to be completed by July 21, 1997. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. There was a broad agency announcement in
the Commerce Business Daily on February 20, 1996, and five bids were received.
The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas
(DACA63-96-C-0028).
Jowatt, Incorporated, Clinton, Maryland, is being awarded a $5,078,000 firm
fixed price contract for renovation of a heating plant. Work will be performed
at the U.S. Soldier's and Airman's Home, Washington, D.C., and is expected to
be completed by December 1, 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of
the current fiscal year. There were 60 bids solicited on December 21, 1995,
and eight bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, Baltimore, Maryland (DACA31-96-C-0034).
NAVY
Boeing Defense and Space Group, Helicopter Division, Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, is being awarded a $54,756,926 modification to previously awarded
contract N00019-94-C-0113 for the dynamic component upgrade for H-46
helicopters. Work will be performed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is
expected to be completed by August 2000. Contract
funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air
Systems Command, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
R. P. Richards, Incorporated, dba R. P. Richards Construction Company, Goleta,
California, is being awarded a $9,695,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the
third phase of an Industrial Waste Treatment Complex for the Navy Public Works
Center, Naval Shipyard,
Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Work will include construction of four buildings, and an
off-site parking lot. Work will be performed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and is
expected to be completed by December 1997. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured
with 88 proposals solicited and 11 offers received. The Naval Facilities
Engineering Command, Pacific Division, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is the contracting
activity (N62742-94-C-1320).
Metro Machine Corporation, Norfolk, Virginia, is being awarded a $6,142,103
cost-plus-award-fee contract to accomplish the FY96 Post Shakedown
Availability for the USS CARTER HALL (LSD 50). Work will be performed in
Norfolk, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by August 1996. Contract
funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was
competitively procured with 10 proposals solicited and two offers received.
