CONTRACTS
DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY
Rayco Supply, Inc*., Virginia Beach, Virginia, is being
awarded a $15,000,000 indefinite quantity contract for tool and
machinery items. Thirty three items were solicited and seven
were received. Work is expected to be completed by September 10,
1997. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The
Defense Supply Center Richmond, Richmond, Virginia, is the
contracting activity (SPO400-96-D-E005).
ARMY
IBM, Almaden Research Center, San Jose, California ,was
awarded on September 6, 1996 a $800,000 increment as part of a
$8,946,804 cost sharing no fee contract to undertake and
coordinate a comprehensive research and development program in
thin film magnetic materials and devices, to be integrated with
advanced silicon circuits, aimed at demonstrating high
performance, nonvolatile random access memory based on the MDRAM
architecture and incorporating magnetic tunnel valve devices and
other advanced magnetic multilevel materials. Work will be
performed in Sunnyvale, California, and is expected to be
completed by September 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire
at the end of the current fiscal year. There were a broad agency
announcement in the Commerce Business Daily on June 15,1995, and
22 bids were received. The contracting activity is the AARPA
Contract Management Office, Arlington, Virginia (MDA972-96-C-
0014).
Gracon Corporation*, Loveland , Colorado, was awarded on
September 6, 1996 a $77,750 increment as part of a not to exceed
$14,000,000 firm fixed price indefinite quantity/time and
materials contract for a wide variety of maintenance services,
repair and minor new construction task orders. Work will be
performed at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico (50%), and
Fort Bliss, Texas (50%), and is expected to be completed by
September 6, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of
the current fiscal year. There were 53 bids solicited on July 9,
1996 and 2 bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas (DACA63-96-D-0037).
Hunt Building Corporation, El Paso, Texas, is being awarded
a $18,260,000 firm fixed price contract for demolition of 135
units of family housing and associated structures, design,
construction of not less than 135 family units on the same site.
Units include 3, 4 and 5 bedroom. New utility infrastructure
will be required in the virgin areas. Construction includes tot
lots, basketball courts, tennis courts, and features normally
included in residential developments. Work will be performed in
Fort Lee, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by November
30, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the
current fiscal year. There were 86 bids solicited on March 15,
1996, and 6 bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk, Virginia (DACA65-96-C-0074).
The AGES Group*, Boca Raton, Florida is being awarded a firm
fixed price contract with a cumulative total potential of
$453,103,598, for purchase total aircraft logistics support for
the combined C-12, UC-12, RC-12 and U-21 series aircraft fleets
of the Army, Navy and Air Force. Work will be performed at
various beddown sites worldwide, and is expected to be completed
by September 9, 2002. There were 47 bids solicited on June 30,
1995 and 6 bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S.
Army Aviation and Troop Command, St. Louis, Missouri (DAAJ09-96-C-
0388).
NAVY
Straub Construction, Incorporated, Fallbrook, California, is
being awarded a $10,940,689 firm-fixed-price contract for
construction of three 3-story and one 1-story bachelor enlisted
quarters at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California.
Work will be performed in Camp Pendleton, California, and is
expected to be completed by November 1998. Contract funds will
not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract
was competitively procured with 350 proposals solicited and 12
offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command,
