Readout of Secretary Chuck Hagel’s Call with the former Republic of Korea Minister of National Defense Kim Kwan Jin

Statement by Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby:

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel spoke by phone this evening with Kim Kwan Jin, the former minister of defense and current Director of the National Security Office for the Republic of Korea.

Secretary Hagel thanked the director for his partnership while he was the minister of defense and indicated that he looks forward to working with his successor Han Min Koo, with whom the secretary held an introductory call earlier in the evening, to continue growing and strengthening the U.S.-ROK Alliance.
