General Officer Assignments

The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Todd T. Semonite, deputy commanding general, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to commander, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan and commander, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Training Mission-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. 

Brig. Gen. Richard D. Clarke, special assistant to the commanding general, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to commanding general, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
