Readout of Secretary Carter's Meeting With His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan

Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook provided the following statement:

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter met His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Pentagon today. Secretary Carter reaffirmed the closeness of the U.S.-Jordan strategic relationship and the leaders discussed mutual concerns in the region including the ongoing crisis in Syria. Secretary Carter expressed his deep appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II for Jordan's continued contributions to regional counter-ISIL efforts. They had a good exchange and agreed to continue the close partnership between the United States and Jordan.
