Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Air Force Brig. Gen. Steven L. Basham for appointment to the rank of major general. Basham is currently serving as the deputy director for requirements, J-8, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Carl A. Buhler for appointment to the rank of major general. Buhler is currently serving as director of logistics, engineering, and force protection, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. James C. Dawkins Jr. for appointment to the rank of major general. Dawkins is currently serving as director of strategic capabilities policy, National Security Council, Executive Office of the President, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Dawn M. Dunlop for appointment to the rank of major general. Dunlop is currently serving as the commander, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Airborne Early Warning and Control Force Command, Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Europe, Casteau, Belgium.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Albert M. Elton II for appointment to the rank of major general. Elton is currently serving as the deputy commanding general, Joint Special Operations Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Michael A. Fantini for appointment to the rank of major general. Fantini is currently serving as the principal director for Middle East policy, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.  

Air Force Brig. Gen. Cedric D. George for appointment to the rank of major general. George is currently serving as deputy director for resource integration, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Patrick C. Higby for appointment to the rank of major general. Higby is currently serving as director of cyberspace strategy and policy, Office of Information Dominance and Chief Information Officer, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark K. Johnson for appointment to the rank of major general. Johnson is currently serving as commander, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, Air Force Materiel Command, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Brian T. Kelly for appointment to the rank of major general. Kelly is currently serving as director for military force management policy, Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower, Personnel and Services, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Brian M. Killough for appointment to the rank of major general. Killough is currently serving as deputy chief, Office of Security Cooperation-Iraq, U.S. Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Scott A. Kindsvater for appointment to the rank of major general. Kindsvater is currently serving as assistant deputy commander, U.S. Air Forces Central Command; and assistant vice commander, 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force, Air Combat Command, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Donald E. Kirkland for appointment to the rank of major general. Kirkland is currently serving as director of logistics, civil engineering and force protection, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert D. LaBrutta for appointment to the rank of major general. LaBrutta is currently serving as commander, 502nd Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio, Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Russell A. Mack for appointment to the rank of major general. Mack is currently serving as inspector general, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Charles L. Moore, Jr. for appointment to the rank of major general. Moore is currently serving as deputy director for global operations, J-39, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Paul D. Nelson for appointment to the rank of major general. Nelson is currently serving as director of intelligence, Headquarters U.S. European Command, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Mary F. O’Brien for appointment to the rank of major general. O’Brien is currently serving as director of intelligence, J-2, Headquarters U.S. Cyber Command, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

Air Force Brig. Gen. John T. Quintas for appointment to the rank of major general. Quintas is currently serving as deputy director for politico-military affairs for Asia, J-5, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Duke Z. Richardson for appointment to the rank of major general. Richardson is currently serving as Air Force program executive officer for tankers, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert J. Skinner for appointment to the rank of major general. Skinner is currently serving as deputy commander, Joint Force Headquarters, Department of Defense Information Networks, Defense Information Systems Agency, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Bradley D. Spacy for appointment to the rank of major general. Spacy is currently serving as director of expeditionary support, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Ferdinand B. Stoss for appointment to the rank of major general. Stoss is currently serving as director of strategic plans, programs, requirements, and assessments, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Jeffrey B. Taliaferro for appointment to the rank of major general. Taliaferro is currently serving as director of plans, programs, and requirements, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Christopher P. Weggeman for appointment to the rank of major general.  Weggeman is the director of plans and policy, J-5, Headquarters U.S. Cyber Command, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Stephen N. Whiting for appointment to the rank of major general. Whiting is currently serving as director of integrated air, space, cyberspace and intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Operations, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Air Force Brig. Gen. John M. Wood for appointment to the rank of major general. Wood is the deputy director for politico-military affairs (Europe, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Russia), J-5, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Air Force Col. Michael A. Guetlein for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Guetlein is currently serving as the senior materiel leader, Remote Sensing Systems Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Space Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California.
 
Air Force Col. Brook J. Leonard for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Leonard is currently serving as the senior military assistant to the secretary of the Air Force, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.
