Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Christian D. Becker has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Becker is currently serving as program executive officer for command, control, communications and intelligence, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, California.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Kyle J. Cozad has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Cozad is currently serving as commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Group, Norfolk, Virginia.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Lisa M. Franchetti has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Franchetti is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Nine; and commander, Carrier Strike Group Fifteen, San Diego, California.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) William J. Galinis has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Galinis is currently serving as commander, Regional Maintenance Center, Washington, District of Columbia.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Bruce L. Gillingham has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Gillingham is currently serving as commander, Navy Medicine West, San Diego, California. 

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Roy J. Kelley has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Kelley is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Twelve, Norfolk, Virginia.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) David M. Kriete has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Kriete is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Nine, Silverdale, Washington.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Bruce H. Lindsey has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Lindsey is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Four, Norfolk, Virginia.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) James T. Loeblein has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Loeblein is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group One, North Island, California.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) William R. Merz has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Merz is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Seven; commander, Task Force Seven Four; and commander, Task Force Five Four, Yokosuka, Japan.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Dee L. Mewbourne has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Mewbourne is currently serving as director, maritime operations, N3, N5, N2, N7, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia. 

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael T. Moran has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Moran is currently serving as program executive officer for Tactical Aircraft Programs, Patuxent River, Maryland. 

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Stuart B. Munsch has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Munsch is currently serving as senior military assistant to Deputy Secretary of Defense, Washington, District of Columbia.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) John B. Nowell, Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Nowell is currently serving as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Seven; and commander, Amphibious Force, U.S. Seventh Fleet, Yokosuka, Japan.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Timothy G. Szymanski has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Szymanski is currently serving as assistant commander, Joint Special Operations Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. 

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Paul J. Verrastro has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  Verrastro is currently serving as commander, Naval Supply Systems Command Weapons System Support, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Timothy J. White has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral.  White is currently serving as director for intelligence, J2, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.
