Flag Officer Announcements

May 19, 2016

 Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Navy Adm. Michelle J. Howard for reappointment to the rank of admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe; commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa; and commander, Allied Joint Forces Command, Naples, Italy.  Howard is currently serving as vice chief of naval operations, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

Navy Capt. Ronny L. Jackson for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Jackson is currently serving as attending physician to the president, Washington, District of Columbia.
