Soldier Killed, Five Wounded in Separate Incidents

WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2004 A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated at approximately 10:20 a.m. today in western Baghdad, Iraq.
Five Task Force Baghdad soldiers were wounded in the blast. They were taken to a military medical facility. No report on their condition was available.
Patrols responding to the incident closed the route to traffic for several hours to conduct a post-blast investigation, officials said.
One military vehicle was damaged in the incident, which is still under investigation.
Elsewhere in Iraq, a patrol was attacked with an improvised explosive device near Alazu on the night of Nov. 29, MNF-I officials said. One 1st Infantry Division soldier died from wounds suffered in the attack.
