One Soldier Injured, One Dead

WASHINGTON, Feb. 11, 2005 – A Task Force Danger soldier in Iraq was wounded by small-arms fire in Kirkuk province near Hawija today.

The soldier was taken to a Multinational Force medical treatment facility. The task force's quick-reaction forces coordinated with Iraqi Army troops and local police to secure and search the area.

Military officials in Baghdad reported the Feb. 10 nonbattle-related death of a Task Force Baghdad soldier.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The incident is under investigation.
