Officials Identify Two Soldiers Killed in Iraq

WASHINGTON, Jan. 12, 2007 Defense Department officials identified two soldiers killed in Iraq while supporting the global war on terrorism.
Army Pfc. Ryan R. Berg, 19, of Sabine Pass, Texas, died Jan. 9 in Baqubah, of wounds suffered when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small-arms fire. Berg was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
Army Maj. Michael L. Mundell, 47, of Brandenburg, Ky., died Jan. 5 in Fallujah, of wounds suffered when a roadside bomb detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Mundell was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 108th Division (Institutional Training), Spartanburg, S.C.
