Four Marines Die in Iraq; Previous Casualty Identified

WASHINGTON, Feb. 8, 2007 Four U.S. Marines were killed in Iraq yesterday, military officials reported today. The Defense Department also identified a previous casualty.
The Marines, assigned to Multinational Force West, died from wounds suffered during combat in Anbar province.
The servicemembers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, DoD released the name of a Marine who died recently supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lance Cpl. Brandon J. Van Parys, 20, of New Tripoli, Pa., died Feb. 5 during combat in Anbar province. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
