U.S. Soldier Dies In Iraq Ambush

WASHINGTON, April 6, 2005 – A Task Force Baghdad soldier was killed April 5 when his patrol encountered an improvised explosive device and insurgent small-arms fire, Multinational Force Iraq officials announced today.

The soldier's name is being withheld pending family notification.

The incident is under investigation.
