Three Marines Reported Killed in Iraq's Anbar Province

WASHINGTON, May 9, 2005 – Three Marines assigned to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), have been killed in Iraq's Anbar province, military officials in Baghdad reported today.

One Marine was killed today by enemy small-arms fire in Qaim, officials reported. Two others were killed during May 8 combat operations, one in Qaim and the other in Ubaydi.

Officials provided no other details. The Marines' names are being withheld until their families are notified.
