Women's Memorial Contractor Selected

WASHINGTON, Feb. 12, 1996 – The Women in Military Service for America Foundation selected the Clark Construction Group, Inc., of Bethesda, Md., to build The Women's Memorial.

The $14million project will convert the Hemicycle gate at Arlington National Cemetery, Va. into a 33,000squarefoot memorial to America's servicewomen. Foundation officials said they hope to dedicate the memorial in 1997.

Designed by Weiss/Manfredi Architects of New York, the memorial will house an education center, a 196seat theater, exhibits, a computer registration area and a Hall of Honor. (AFPS)
