Rumsfeld to Chart Military Transformation Course

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29, 2002 Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld will talk Jan. 31 about the transformation of the U.S. military during a major speech at the National Defense University here.
In a speech tentatively set to start at 12:30 p.m., Rumsfeld is expected to chart the way ahead for transformation in the post-Sept. 11, 2001, world. The secretary will give broad outlines and speak to lessons learned in battling terrorism. A question and answer session will follow his remarks.
The university event will be broadcast several ways.
