The closing ceremony for the 2015 Department of Defense Warrior Games will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at Butler Stadium aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico.
This culminating event will celebrate the 270 warrior-athletes, caregivers and family members who have inspired our nation throughout a tremendous week of athletic competition, camaraderie and courage. The event is open to the public and will include remarks from Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work, as well as the awarding of the “Chairman’s Cup,” by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey, honoring the team that accumulated the most points during the games.
Events will include a performance by the United States Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps and Silent Drill Platoon, as well as remarks from the commandant of the Marine Corps and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The ceremony will conclude with an MV-22 Osprey flyover by the pilots of our nation’s presidential helicopter squadron.
