PTSD Day Message

Today is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Day, and I’d like to ask that you take the time to check in with your friends and loved ones to talk about the symptoms of PTSD, and the resources that are available to help.

The Department of Defense will mark this day through social media by sharing resources, debunking myths, destigmatizing PTSD, and encouraging honest conversations.  I hope you will join us with your stories of healing and support, and when you do, please use #PTSDawareness.

On this day, and every day, we must do everything we can to ensure that everyone with PTSD receives the support, understanding, and respect they deserve.  Together we must fulfill our obligation to care for those who have stepped forward to protect us all.  Thank you.
