Texas Guardsmen Provide Flood Relief

Marine Company Assaults Mountain Trenches During Operation Lava Viper

U.S. Marines exit a CH-53 Super Stallion to conduct a company-sized assault on Range 10 during Operation Lava Viper at Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii, May 21, 2015. The Marines are assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, Alpha Company. The training area sits 6,000 feet above sea level and rests in a valley between three peaks on the island of Hawaii. Range 10 is a long stretch of tough terrain that leads into a series of trenches wrapping around a large hill and has previously only been used for platoon-sized assaults.
