DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl. Nicholas A. Arvanitis, 22, of Salem, New Hampshire, died on Oct. 6 in Bayji, Iraq, from injuries suffered when he encountered enemy fire. Arvanitis was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
