DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Shane R. Austin, 19, of Edgerton, Kan., died on Oct. 8 in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, from injuries suffered by enemy grenade fire. Austin was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 35th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armor Division, Baumholder, Germany.
