GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. George A. Crocker, United
States Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general
and assignment as commanding general, I Corps and Ft. Lewis, Ft.
Lewis, Wash.
Since March 1995, he has served as the commanding
general, 82nd Airborne Division, Ft. Bragg, N.C.
Crocker was born on Feb. 4, 1943, in Russellville, Ark.
