Flag Officer Assignments

                 Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Mullen announced the following flag officer assignments:
                Rear Adm. John W. Goodwin is being assigned as commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va. Goodwin is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Nine, Everett, Wash.
Rear Adm. David A. Gove is being assigned as Oceanographer/Navigator of the Navy, Washington, D.C. Gove is currently serving as commander, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.
 
Rear Adm. Edward Masso is being assigned as commander, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn. Masso is currently serving as assistant deputy chief of naval operations for manpower, personnel, training and education, N1B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
 
Rear Adm.(lower half) William D. French is being assigned as commander, Navy Region Marianas/U.S. Pacific Command Representative, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau/commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Marianas, Apra, Guam. French is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Northwest, Bangor, Wash.
 
Rear Adm. (lower half) Charles J. Leidig is being assigned as director, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Sixth Fleet, plans and operations/deputy commander, Sixth Fleet/commander submarines, Allied Naval Forces South/commander, Submarine Group Eight, Naples, Italy.  Leidig is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Marianas/U.S. Pacific Command Representative, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau/commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Marianas, Apra, Guam.
