Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

 

Army Maj. Gen. David P. Fridovich has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as director, Center for Special Operations, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Fridovich is currently serving as commander, Special Operations Command Pacific, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.

 

Army Reserve Col. Juan A. Ruiz has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Ruiz is currently serving as assistant chief of staff (individual mobilization augmentee), J-4, U.N. Command/Combined Forces Command/U.S. Forces Korea.
