General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Army Lt. Gen. Douglas E. Lute for re-appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as the assistant to the President/deputy national security advisor for Iraq and Afghanistan, Washington, D.C. He is currently serving as the director for operations, J-3, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. |
