General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Carter F. Ham, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as director for operations, J-3, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. He is currently serving as commanding general, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan. |
