Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Air Force Gen. Kevin P. Chilton for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as commander, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. Chilton is currently serving as commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Air Force Lt. Gen. Claude R. Kehler for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Kehler is currently serving as deputy commander, U.S. Strategic Command Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
Air Force Lt. Gen. David A. Deptula for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. Deptula is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, intelligence, headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.
