General Officer Announcements

           Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Martin Post has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Post is currently serving as the deputy commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force (governance and economics), Camp Pendleton, Calif.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Richard P. Mills has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Mills is currently serving as the assistant division commander, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Randolph D. Alles has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Alles is currently serving as the assistant wing commander, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing, San Diego, Calif.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Dunford is currently serving as the vice director for operations, J-3, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Paul E. Lefebvre has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Lefebvre is currently serving as the commanding general, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island; and commanding general, Eastern Recruiting Region, Parris Island, S.C.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Robert E. Milstead Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Milstead is currently serving as the director, public affairs, Washington, D.C.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Anthony L. Jackson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Jackson is currently serving as the director of operations and logistics, U.S. Africa Command, Germany.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Melvin G. Spiese has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Spiese is currently serving as the commanding general, MAGTF Training Command; and commanding general, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif.
 
          Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Michael R. Regner has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Regner is currently serving as the legislative assistant to the Commandant of the Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.
