The Department of Defense and the Navy Art Foundation (NAF)
today announced plans to display an exhibit of almost 100
paintings that dramatizes the progress women have made in the
U.S. military services and the Coast Guard.
The exhibit, entitled Teamwork: Men and Women in the
Nation's Defense, will be open to the public in the rotunda of
the Cannon House Office Building from March 17 through March 28

'Teamwork' dramatizes women's progress in the Army, Navy,
Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard, said NAF Vice-President and
Art Director Dr. Vera D. Mann. The Services' joint
participation in the exhibit exemplifies their shared commitment
to gender equality, said Mann, adding that the paintings in the
exhibit from a unique, historically important record of women's
changing and growing roles in the Nation's defense.
DoD and NAF will open the exhibit with a ceremony for
invited guests and media in the Cannon Building Rotunda on March
