General Officer Announcements

Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
 
Air Force Col. William J. Bender has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Bender is currently serving as the commander, 86th Airlift Wing and Kaiserslautern Military Community commander, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
 
Air Force Col. Bryan J. Benson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Benson is currently serving as the vice commander, 618th Tanker Airlift Control Center, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
 
Air Force Col. Christopher C. Bogdan has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Bogdan is currently serving as the senior military assistant, deputy under secretary of defense (acquisition and technology), Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. Darryl W. Burke has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Burke is currently serving as the senior military assistant to the secretary of the Air Force, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. Joseph T. Callahan III has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Callahan is currently serving as the deputy director, air and space operations, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va.
 
Air Force Col. Michael J. Carey has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Carey is currently serving as the director, combat and information operations, Global Operations Directorate, Headquarters U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
 
Air Force Col. John B. Cooper has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Cooper is currently serving as the director, logistics, Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Fla.
 
Air Force Col. Samuel D. Cox has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Cox is currently serving as the director, Air Force general officer management, deputy chief of staff, manpower, personnel and services, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. Teresa A. H. Djuric has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Djuric is currently serving as the commander, 50th Space Wing, Air Force Space Command, Schriever Air Force Base, Colo.
 
Air Force Col. Carlton D. Everhart II has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Everhart is currently serving as the inspector general, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.
 
Air Force Col. Terrence A. Feehan has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Feehan is currently serving as the commander, Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M.
 
Air Force Col. Samuel A. R. Greaves has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Greaves is currently serving as the commander, Launch and Range Systems Wing, Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Space Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif.
 
Air Force Col. Russell J. Handy has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Handy is currently serving as the commander, 57th Wing, Air Combat Command, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.
 
Air Force Col. Scott M. Hanson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Hanson is currently serving as the deputy director, operations and plans, Headquarters U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
 
Air Force Col. Veralinn Jamieson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Jamieson is currently serving as the director, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance transformation, deputy chief of staff, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. Jeffrey G. Lofgren has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Lofgren is currently serving as the director, Analytical Project Office, Joint Advanced Warfighting Program, Institute for Defense Analyses, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Alexandria, Va.
 
Air Force Col. Earl D. Matthews has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Matthews is currently serving as the commander, 435th Air Base Wing, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
 
Air Force Col. Kurt F. Neubauer has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Neubauer is currently serving as the commander, 11th Wing, Air Force District of Washington, Bolling Air Force Base, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. Robert C. Nolan II has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Nolan is currently serving as the assistant deputy director, global operations, J-3, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. Craig S. Olson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Olson is currently serving as the vice commander, Aeronautical Systems Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
 
Air Force Col. John R. Ranck Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Ranck is currently serving as the chief, Program Integration Division, deputy chief of staff, strategic plans and programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. Darryl L. Roberson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Roberson is currently serving as the commander, 325th Fighter Wing, Air Education and Training Command, Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla.
 
Air Force Col. Jeffry F. Smith has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Smith is currently serving as the deputy director, operational planning, policy and strategy, deputy chief of staff, operations, plans and requirements, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
 
Air Force Col. John F. Thompson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Thompson is currently serving as the chief of staff, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
 
Air Force Col. Gregory J. Touhill has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Touhill is currently serving as the commander, 81st Training Wing, Air Education and Training Command, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.
 
Air Force Col. Thomas J. Trask has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Trask is currently serving as the commandant, Squadron Officer College, Air University, Air Education and Training Command, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
 
Air Force Col. Joseph S. Ward Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Ward is currently serving as the comptroller, Headquarters U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.
 
Air Force Col. Scott D. West has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. West is currently serving as the commander, 613th Air and Space Operations Center, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
 
Air Force Col. Timothy M. Zadalis has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Zadalis is currently serving as the commander, 43rd Airlift Wing, Air Mobility Command, Pope Air Force Base, N.C.
