Flag and General Officer Announcements
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Navy Rear Adm. Dirk J. Debbink has been nominated for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment as chief of Navy Reserve, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Debbink is currently serving as deputy, chief of Navy Reserve, Washington, D.C.
Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Douglas M. Stone has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commander, Marine Forces Reserve and commander, Marine Forces North. Stone is presently serving as the deputy commanding general, Multi-National Force – Iraq (Detainee Operations) and commanding general, Task Force 134, in Iraq. |
