GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Tad J. Oelstrom, U. S. Air
Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with
assignment as Superintendent, U. S. Air Force Academy, Colorado
Springs, Colo. Oelstrom is currently assigned as the commander,
Third Air Force, U. S. Air Forces in Europe, RAF Mildenhall,
United Kingdom.
Oelstrom was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wis.
