Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Air Force Maj. Gen. Jeffrey A. Remington has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander, U.N. Command Korea; deputy commander, U.S. Forces Korea; commander, Air Component Command, Republic of Korea/U.S. Combined Forces Command; and commander, Seventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Osan Air Base, Korea. Remington is currently serving as director, operations, plans, requirements and programs, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Jack L. Rives has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as the judge advocate general, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
