GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Ralph E. Eberhart, U. S. Air
Force, for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as
vice chief of staff, U. S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Eberhart is currently assigned as the commander, U. S. Forces
Japan; and commander, Fifth Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Yokota
Air Base, Japan
Eberhart was born Dec. 26, 1946, in Nevada, Moi.
