TECHNOLOGY NAVIGATOR WEBSITE ANNOUNCED

The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) has released the initial version of the Technology Navigator, a web-based data base of technology studies, pilot projects and other information covering a wide variety of current and evolving technology topics.

The Technology Navigator is being developed as an information sharing and collaborative tool for industry, academia and government agencies. It creates a forum for technologists, project managers and senior analysts to share research data and related information on products, studies, findings and pilot programs. They can post events, discuss ideas and develop new problem-solving applications to fit today's technologically fast- paced and rapidly changing environment.

The Technology Navigator also provides an opportunity for technology companies to showcase products and services over the Internet to a worldwide government audience. At the same time, users can be kept abreast of commercially available applications and technologies.

Until June 1, 1997, the initial version of the Technology Navigator can be viewed at http://www.mews.org/jto. In addition, technology products and research items can be submitted to that site. The operational site will be available after June 1 at http://www.dtic.mil/technav.

The Technology Navigator will be demonstrated at the TechNet 97 exhibition, June 17-19, at the Washington Convention Center, 9th Street and New York Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.
