GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Randolph W. House, U.S.
Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and
assignment as commanding general, Eighth U.S. Army; chief of
staff, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, U.S.
Forces Korea. Since Feb. 1997, he has served as the assistant
chief of staff for Installation Management, Washington, D.C.
House was born on July 24, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
