Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Lt. Gen. Philip M. Breedlove has been nominated for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, operations, plans and requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Breedlove is currently serving as commander, Third Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
Brig. Gen. Ronnie D. Hawkins Jr., has been nominated to the grade of major general while serving as the deputy director, policy and resources, Office of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
