Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead announced today the following assignments:
Capt. Kurt L. Kunkel, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as chief of staff, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va. Kunkel is currently serving as deputy director for joint logistics, J4, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Kevin R. Slates, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic, Norfolk, Va. Slates is currently serving as chief of staff, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Jonathan A. Yuen, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy chief of staff for logistics, fleet supply, and ordnance, N4, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Yuen is currently serving as deputy commander/chief of staff Joint Contracting Command Iraq/Afghanistan.
