GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Robert S. Coffey, U. S. Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany. Since July 1996, he has served as the chief of staff, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.
Coffey was born on Nov. 30, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio.
