GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. John N. Abrams, U.S. Army, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va. Since April 1995, he has served as the commanding general, V Corps, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.
Abrams was born on Sept. 3, 1946, in Fort Knox, Ky.
